Mount Edgecombe Country Club is home to one of the strongest and most respected ladies’ golfing communities in KwaZulu-Natal. Built on a proud tradition of camaraderie, competition, and inclusivity, the Ladies’ Section is not only a cornerstone of the Club’s sporting life but also a driving force in its continued growth.
Regular competitions on both The Woods and The Lakes courses give our members the chance to sharpen their skills, while organised social rounds create opportunities for more relaxed play and connection. In addition, open days and league fixtures showcase the depth of talent within the section. Representing the Club in both the Midweek and Business Leagues, Mount Edgecombe ladies have established a reputation for excellence and commitment.
The section also plays a prominent role in the Club’s social and charitable calendar, with events such as the Annual Ladies Golf Day and fundraising initiatives strengthening bonds within the Club and making a meaningful impact in the wider community.
For newcomers, the Bunnies Programme provides an empowering pathway into the game. Led by PGA Master Professional Steve Cottingham and supported by experienced members, this structured introduction combines expert coaching, mentoring, and a three-month membership — giving women the confidence to move seamlessly into regular play and into the heart of our golfing family.
At Mount Edgecombe, the Ladies’ Section represents far more than just a game of golf. It is a community of strong, talented, and supportive women who balance sporting excellence with friendship, inclusivity, and a true love of the game.
